Earth Advocates have been lobbying for CITES Protection of Whale Sharks since 1997 after filming the Slaughter of a Whale Shark. Our dramatic film and Images of the slow slaughter of a Whale Shark have been used Internationally to campaign for International protection. The Whale shark and various Basking Shark were placed on the Appendix 11 CITES list of Protected Species, November 18, 2002.

Stop Airlines Serving Shark Fins

Earth Advocates played in instrumental role in convincing both Singapore Air and Thai Air management to reverse their decisions to stop serving Shark fin soup or any shark meals on their flights. Earth Advocates reacted to an urgent plea by Tony Wu, of Singapore, for help in resolving these problems. Each case was dealt with separately at different times, and despite only being like a drop in the bucket, we consider this an accomplishment in the battle to save natures species. This joint campaign has not been won until all Sharks are protected as Endangered Species.
